Baltimore's Thanksgiving Parade
Saturday, November 18, 2000 @ 11 a.m.
Celebrate the holiday season as Baltimore welcomes grand marshals Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and Olympic gymnast Elise Ray at this exciting parade featuring the "official" arrival of Santa & Mrs. Claus. Other participants include high school bands such as Edmondson-Westside, Randallstown and Hackettstown, equestrian units, Edgemere Moose Clowns, community bands and more.
New this year is the Book Cart Drill Team from Carroll County Public Library's Eldersburg branch which demonstrates spins, turns, crosses and precision routines using book carts. Also, the parade celebrates activities surrounding Baltimore hosting the Army-Navy Game on December 2.
After the parade, children can stop by Santa's House and share holiday wish lists. Youngsters can enjoy Santa's Petting Zoo. The Santa House is located at the Harborplace Amphitheatre near Pratt and Light streets.
ROUTE: The parade steps off near Oriole Park at Camden Yards at the intersection of Pratt and Eutaw streets, continues east on Pratt Street, and disbands at Market Place. The reviewing stand is located at the intersection of Pratt and Light streets.
The event is presented along with Harborplace & The Gallery. The media sponsor is WLIF Lite 102 Radio.
