September 21st through September 29th is State Parks Week in Maryland and the Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) Helen Avalynne Tawes Garden is wild about it. The Tawes Garden will feature DNR’s Scales and Tales Interpretive program on Wednesday, September 25th at 10:30 a.m. The program is taking place in the Tawes Building lobby conference room, 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401. The presentation is open to the public, and admission is free.
The program is purposed to help better acquaint people with Maryland’s varied wildlife by giving them an opportunity to see these creatures from merely a few feet away. Scales and Tales is an environmental program of the State Forest and Park Service, which uses stories or “tales” of how its animals came into the care of the program. Also covered during the presentation are issues focusing on the loss of habitat, environmental pollution, resources management and biodiversity.
Registration is required and can be completed by calling any member of the garden staff (410) 260-8189 or (410) 260-8581.
