Gallery Tours: A Premium Guided Experience
This premium family adventure gives guests an intimate, one-of-a kind experience with the Aquarium’s blockbuster exhibit, Seahorses: Beyond Imagination, before its daily opening to the general public. With an expert guide, guests will discover rarely seen early morning behaviors such as the “pair bonding” dance between male and female seahorses. All tours begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Tours include: admission, Continental breakfast, and reserved seating in the dolphin show. Advanced reservations required. Dolphin Discovery
An up-close-and-personal tour of the Marine Mammal Pavilion takes guests behind the scenes with an expert guide. Visitors will go on deck with a marine mammal trainer to meet Raven, Spirit and Maya – three dolphin calves who were born at the Aquarium. They’ll also have a question-and-answer session with a trainer. The tour lasts approximately two hours and includes seating in a dolphin show. For information or reservations, call 410-576-3833.

MARP to the Rescue
The Aquarium is home to the largest hospital pool in the Mid-Atlantic, and its Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP) staff and volunteers work 24/7 to save increasing numbers of stranded or injured animals. This premium family experience gives guests an intimate look at the people, animals, and facilities involved in these life-saving events. Guests can explore exciting careers, learn about animals in danger, and participate in a “mock” rescue. They’ll go behind the scenes to the food preparation and hospital areas. Program includes Aquarium admission and reserved seating in the dolphin show. Please wear comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes. SEAHORSES: BEYOND IMAGINATION
Visitor’s still have time to see the Aquarium’s newest changing exhibit. Seahorses: Beyond Imagination will be at the Aquarium until 2003. Seahorses: Beyond Imagination showcases a fabulous display of almost 20 species of the most elusive and exotic animals. Visitors can discover approximately 350 of these little-known fish from all over the world. The exhibit will be one of the most comprehensive collections of these little-understood animals ever presented. Some of the “stars” of the exhibit will be rarely displayed weedy seadragons and leafy seadragons, ornate cousins of seahorses. Other inhabitants will be pot-bellied seahorses, spiny seahorses, long snout seahorses, and several varieties of pipefish. The especially designed exhibit will include nine recreated habitats, providing visitors with a unique “journey” to the world of these fascinating creatures.

Splash! 2002 Disco Fever: Celebrating 10 Years

Partygoers can dance the night away at the National Aquarium in Baltimore’s 10th annual fundraising party. This year’s theme is Disco Fever, which highlights the vital work of our veterinary staff. Proceeds from Splash! will benefit the Aquarium’s veterinary services. Splash! attendees can also savor cuisine from more than thirty top Maryland restaurants and dance through the Aquarium’s extraordinary exhibits. Ticket prices are $100 and $125. Guests will be enchanted by Jessica Haring, 11-year-old illustrator of Seahorses Down Under, which is published by Dawn of Day, a company that publishes the works of young authors and illustrators. Jessica will be teaching color techniques, shading, and the illustration process to young people who are interested in becoming a professional illustrator. MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET: Holiday Lights Trolley Tour

DEAF AWARENESS DAY

Interpreters sign narration for individuals who are deaf and hard-of-hearing during all scheduled public programs. This includes feedings at the indoor ray and puffin exhibits, as well as the auditorium programs in the main Aquarium and dolphin presentations in the Marine Mammal Pavilion.
