State Record Atlantic Striped Bass Caught Off Assateague On Nov. 15

OCEAN CITY, MD (November 19, 2002) - Daniel Davis, of Littlestown, PA, had an exciting day of fishing last Friday at the Bullpen on Assateague Island. He caught a striped bass that weighed 48.2 pounds, which breaks the previous Atlantic striped bass state record of 45 pounds, 5 ounces, set back in 1994. The striper measured 49.25 inches in length and had a 29 inch girth. Davis worked the fish for 20 minutes on 20-pound test line baited with bunker.
