ST. MICHAELS, MD—Ice-covered creeks got you in the winter doldrums? Think warm weather and the 16th annual Antique & Classic Boat Festival, set for balmy June 13 through June 15 at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
Despite this season’s record cold temperatures, festival officials already are planning for the largest show of beautifully restored classic powerboats in the Mid-Atlantic. More than 100 Chris Crafts, Gar Woods, Whirlwinds, Lyman and other vintage vessels manufactured by the most famous American boat builders will be displayed on land and in the water. The museum’s Navy Point campus will be filled with craftsmen, artists and food vendors. The special U.S. Coast Guard Cutter “Coastie” will be on hand to entertain the children. And live music will be played beneath the Tolchester Beach Bandstand.
The festival is included with the price of admission to the museum, which is $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors, and $4 for individuals from 6 to 17. Children under 6 and museum members are admitted free.
